Our commitment

We understand that our actions, from how we procure our ingredients, produce our food, our transport sytems and head office procedures, can have a big impact on the environment around us.

Our commitment to you, our team and the rest of London is to consider all of these effects when making decisions, like buying locally where possible, to reduce our carbon footprint, and supporting local businesses, to help them thrive too.

Taking Care of London

Taking Care of London

As well as offering seasonal menus that cater for a variety of diets such as vegan, vegetarian, halal and lactose requirements, Berkeley Catering is also committed to improving continued sustainable practices within our business, like reducing our carbon footprint and offering sustainable packaging choices

We have made a big commitment to not only improving our packaging, but educating ourselves on the impact our use of various plastics have and the alternate options available.

Sustainable or bio-degradable? Recyclable or re-useable? Form or function? We continually ask these questions whilst working with some of the leading food packaging manufacturers, and whilst there is no clear right or wrong, we feel as one of London’s leading caterers it is important to try CATER for everyones practical needs, whilst delivering the high level of quality that is expected of us.

Traditionally we have provided catering on our bespoke black plates that give any meeting or event a look of professional quality that compliments our food. We collect those plates and return them to our kitchens where they are cleaned and ready to re-use.

We have also already swapped the majority of our plastic containers with glass, but, we are committed to reducing our use of plastics and have researched alternative materials, which is why you will notice our New Social Distance Dining range uses cardboard & bio-degradable packaging with sugar pulp cutlery. Many of our original menu items can also be provided like this on request.

Feeding The Community

Our food may not change the world, but the people we feed might! This has never been more so than with some of the good causes we have been involved in of late.

Magic Breakfast – Magic Breakfast’s aim is to alleviate child hunger and poverty as a barrier to education through the provision of healthy breakfasts to children across England and Scotland. This is being achieved through three key activities: food aid, building capacity in school communities to reach every child at risk of hunger and making the case for change to ensure permanent funding for school breakfasts. We were extremeley proud to help this great cause by making and delivering breakfast meals.

Hospitality For Heroes #FeedTheNHS – A crowd-funding initiative established to feed NHS workers on the COVID-19 frontline with free, healthy meals prepared by professional Head Chefs. Our team were more than happy to help deliver more than 5,000 meals in just one week to University College Hospital, St Mary’s Imperial College, St Bartholomew’s Hospital and The Royal London Hospital.
